10th July 2025
The countdown is on for our climb up Mt Kilimanjaro, and we'd love your support!
In less than a month, August 2025, a team of passionate adventurers led by Testigo's founder, Tracey Sawyer, will embark on an eight-day trek to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro via the remote Lemosho Route. This hike will raise money and awareness for Testigo's work with Maasai communities.
After the climb, the group will visit Longido village, one of Testigo's key project sites, to see the impact of our educational and permaculture initiatives and engage with Maasai culture.
Keep reading to meet some of our intrepid travellers, starting with granddaughter and grandfather duo, Niamh and Kevin!

Niamh Rafferty
I am 28 from Belfast but have been living in London for the past 2 years, working in Marketing at A&O Shearman. Kilimanjaro has always been on my bucket list so when this opportunity came through my work (as Tracey is a company alumni), I was inspired by what Testigo Africa was doing for the Masai communities of Tanzania and jumped at the opportunity.
I enjoy hiking as a hobby, and I have a passion for exploring new places on foot. Last August, I hiked the Inca trail to Machu Picchu, and it ignited my wanderlust for more international treks (and not just the beautiful ones in Ireland!).
This experience will be made even better getting to do it with my grandad.

Niamh and myself would like to thank Testigo for this fantastic opportunity to climb Kilimanjaro.
We are so excited and can't wait.
I climbed Kili with my son 17 years ago but never thought I would get to do it again. Now I'm going do it with my granddaughter Niamh who'll probably have to carry me up the last leg of it.
Support Niamh and Kevin, donate here!
Every donation that you make to the Kiliminjaro hike goes towards:
- Training remote Masai boarding school students and teachers in permaculture
- Culturally sensitive permaculture training projects for Masai communities
- Water projects in Masai villages and schools including water access, pipelines, water tanks, water rehabilitation and dams
- Vocational and school sponsorship of Masai students
- Micro enterprise entrepreneurial and start-up supportZ
Finally, doing good feels good, so please support us and the work we do by donating if you can. Testigo has exciting plans for expansion within Tanzania and into Amboseli in Kenya. We need your help to make them a reality!
